Fantasy Football budget challenge

Welcome along to my first ever, budget Fantasy Football team league! This is a free to join league with a cash  prize of £50.

Whoever is top of the leaderboard by the end of the season will win the cash prize alongside the accolade of being the best manager on a budget (just don’t call them a wheeler dealer!). Those are the basics, now lets delve into the rules of the game. We’re going to try to keep this as simple as possible as to not over complicate things, and then I will do a run through of what my starting team will be, and if your up for the challenge, then you can try to come up with a team to compete.  Such is the nature of the fluctuating values throughout the FPL season, the easiest way to avoid confusion as well as making it possible to verify legitimate winners at the end of the season, will be to just prohibit certain players at the beginning of the season. That way, everyone knows who they can and cant use rather than cut of players by specific values. Just to allow people to understand reasoning with who I have prohibited, as a general rule of thumb the top 10 most valuable players in each position are not eligible for selection. There are some caveats to this though as there are examples of their being multiple players of the same value being the 10th most valuable in that position. Where this occurs, both players have been made ineligible for selection.  I will provide a list of the players that you cant select in this article and although players can be added to the list, they cannot be removed, even if their value plummets. Any new signing will be evaluated and potentially added as and when they are signed, but it will not knock anyone else off the list. Now we have gone over the ground rules, lets move on to the specifics:

Just so everyone is completely clear, any of the players listed above are not eligible for selection, and any new signings will be evaluated as and when they sign. Although as a general indicator, if they are of the same value, or higher than any of the players listed in their position, they will more than likely be unavailable for selection. Any major changes to this list will be announced on here and on our twitter account. Now, onto my team, foresight has never been my strong suite, however I have tried to make my picks with the first game in the back of my mind. With that being said, I also looked at the teams that I was choosing players from, specifically teams I think will be looking to play attacking football. For example, players like Pedro Porro and Kulusevski are both coming of the back of underwhelming seasons last year for Tottenham. Here’s where I swoop in, big Ange is at the helm now and I’m hoping his fast paced attacking football will see them flourish and rack up points this year. It is also why I have selected Jackson and Mudryk from Chelsea, although with Liverpool as their first fixture (a game that has not had a glutton of goals in recent years) they will most likely be warming the bench on week 1. The only place in the team where I am looking for my clean sheets are with my keeper, Hodgson ball is back and Guaita gunna have a nice quiet time this year. and with Schar. Everyone else in the team has picked with hope that they will be racking up goals from week 1 onwards. As is the life of an FPL manager, there will be tinkering on an almost daily basis from here on until the season ends, but I will be posting my team on the ‘Sports ‘N All’ twitter account each game week for full transparency. The point of this league is just to have some light hearted competitive  fun with fellow football fans, but as mentioned earlier, there is a small cash prize for whoever triumphs and is crowned as the ultimate Wheeler Dealer. Please do try to follow all the rules as there are not too many of them, any winning team will be checked to make sure no players were used that were not allowed. The code to join the league is 7sr5jr and anyone is welcome so please spread the word  and see if you have what it takes to make the best budget FPL team.
