Premier League Round 3 Fixture Predictions

                                                                                                                                        Chelsea 1 – 0 Luton

This game took a lot of deliberation, on the one hand we have seen this Chelsea side play some very nice free flowing football, but on the other hand we saw how they struggled to break down a West Ham side even when they had the man advantage. Luton will likely stack 5 at the back out of possession and try and break Chelsea on the counter but we don’t think it will be enough. Its still hard to gauge where Luton are as they have played only the single game and that was against free scoring Brighton. Ultimately with the  home advantage on their side, we think Chelsea should edge this one, but we wont be suprised if they manage to win by a larger margin.

                                                                                                                         Bournemouth 2- 2 Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs fans wont like me for raining on their parade after their impressive win over Man Utd last weekend, but despite the great result as well as the very strong second half, I still believe this team are a few months away from showing us what they can really do.  The last few years have been spent playing a completely different style of football so it would be harsh to expect them to be masters of the craft this soon. Bournemouth crumbled in the second half against Liverpool but they will be looking to match Spurs in their possession style and I predict this will lead to an exciting game with both teams open at the back.

                                                                                                                          Brentford 2 – 0 Crystal Palace

Palace have hardly started the season in free scoring form but they will still consider themselves to be somewhat unlucky not to have come away with  anything against 10 man Arsenal in their last outing. Brentford on the other hand have hit the ground running with 5 goals and 4 points already this season, so despite facing a well organised Hodgeson side, I think they will have too much fire power for Roys Boys.

                                                                                                                                      Arsenal 3 – 0 Fulham

Despite picking up 6 points out of 6, Arsenal have hardly blown away their opposition, which can be in part attributed to blending in their new players while tinkering with the tactics that worked so well last season. Fulham themselves can consider themselves relatively lucky to have any points on the board, with their win coming in the opening day in a snatch and grab against the Toffees. This is an ideal game for Arsenal to kick into form as they face Man Utd next week in their first big fixture of the season.

                                                                                                                    Manchester Utd 1 – 1 Notts Forest

We could copy and paste the section we wrote about Fulham to describe Man Utd, lucky to grab all 3 points against Wolves and then put to the  sword by Spurs last weekend, a home fixture against Forest will be seen as an ideal way to kick off their season. It wont be an easy tie though as Arsenal found out with Forest a very organised outfit, Coupled with an inform Awoniyi and a Morgan Gibbs White who is gliding across the pitch at the moment and we wouldn’t be suprised if Forest can nick a point here.

                                                                                                                                       Everton 0 – 0 Wolves

A lot of similarities can be drawn between these two sides, both sides are coming off the back of conceding 4 goals, and both sides look pretty toothless in attack, which seems like it should be the perfect recipe for a barnstormer of a game. Which is why we have gone for 0-0. Dyche wont accept another defensive display like last week, especially at home so I imagine they will first and foremost focus on their structure and solidity this game, but I just cant see where the goals come for either side, should be a fun game but goalless.

                                                                                                                                  Brighton 3 – 1 West Ham

Brighton have really impressed so far, being 1 of only 3 sides to have a perfect start this season so far albeit early as it is. West  Ham recorded an impressive victory against Chelsea last week, and this is the kind of game that truly suits their game plan, soak up the pressure and hit them on the break. However thanks to a sending off they will be missing arguably their best CB in Aguerd and despite the previously mentioned point, Brighton just look too good at the moment and will certainly offer more trouble than Chelsea last week.

                                                                                                                     Sheffield United 0 – 4 Man City

No Guardiola, but that shouldn’t be a worry for City who will be  looking to boost their goal difference against potential record breakers (albeit not records they would like to break) Sheffield United. Truly this could be a scary score and I just cant see any way for Sheffield to get anything out of this game, we have gone for 0-4 but truthfully that could just be Haalands tally alone.

                                                                                                                                        Burnley 0 – 2 Aston Villa

Burnley still sit on 0 points but you would have to assume that is largely down to their game against Luton last week being postponed, leaving just the City game on the opening day as their only fixture so far. Villa have had a hit and miss start so far, receiving a drubbing via Newcastle only to seek revenge on Everton the week after. It does feel as though the Newcastle result was more of an anomaly rather than setting the precedent for Villas season. Still hard to read into how Burnley will do this year, so this may be harsh on them but we are struggling to see where their goals will come from.

                                                                                                                                  Newcastle 2 – 2 Liverpool

The big blockbuster game of the weekend see’s Liverpool travel to Tyneside to face a strong Newcastle side. The big story leading up to this game is whether or not Salah will make the move to Saudi, which is hardly ideal preparation for the tie, however if there is one person who wont let their performance be effected by the noise its Salah. We predict him to have a huge season if he does stay and this should be an exciting back and forth exchange.
